Content

The PEC regulations of 01.01.2011 sets the standard of the Cadet PEC (= Cadet Pilot Exemption Certificate). This scheme is based on the ordinary PEC can be achieved by systematic training on board regardless of the stipulated requirements for sailing on the coast (competence by study rather than experience at sea).

KThe course is accredited by NCA (Norwegian Coastal Administration) and it has been run as an elective for the 3-year students at NTNU Aalesund. After the course you will meet the claim 1 in The PEC regulations §18 from NCA and obtain the Cadet-PEC. The course builds on the NCA model course "Coastal Navigation for midshipman".

Exam consists of a theoretical part and a practical in simulator. To take the exam, the candidate must have attended the lessons and training.
