The training is carried out by applying student-active learning approach with methods including joint lectures, group work with assignments, table-top exercises and simulator exercises. Each simulator exercise is explained before a briefing is carried out and proceeds to detail learning outcome and content. Following each simulator exercise the course attendants are de-briefed regarding execution, to promote reflection, practical approach and lasting effect.
Examination
Attendants will be evaluated by the end of the course. To obtain the course diploma Polar Code Basic and Advance the attendants must pass a theoretical multiple choice test plus a simulator test. Evaluation mod is pass/fail. If failing, the candidate will without further delay be given a second attempt at completing the test. The course coordinator shall ensure that candidates are informed about these methods of evaluation in advance of binding registration is done. The course manager is also responsible for informing about and review the evaluation form at the start of the course.
