NTNU renews NI certification
31 May 2024 av Arnfinn OksavikDuring week 22, NTNU has undergone the compulsory 3-yearly Nautical Institute audit to remain an approved Dynamic Positioning training center. The Audit yielded some recommendations but did not result in any findings, meaning the approval will be renewed without any conditions. Jonny Knudsen, head of DP training at NTNU in Aalesund is very pleased with the audit and says "This shows we are running our operation according to requirements, ensuring course participants get good value or money when training at NTNU"
The audit took place during the 28th and 29th of May by two experienced auditors from Nautical Institute in London, Noel Leith, and Shahbaz Haider.
During the audit both NTNU in terms of the Nautical Sciences Bachelor study program and NTNU Ocean Training, the training subsidiary of NTNU was audited. Key components in delivering courses were scrutinized for conformance to standards, such as procedures for enrollment, approval of credentials, and identity control. Naturally, the facilities to deliver the training on equipment were a core object of interest and the K-Sim-Equipped DP Induction and Simulator environments were found fully compliant with standards and requirements.
